The Chaplains of Saint Mary's Spiritual Care Services provide a caring
presence to patients, visitors and staff of all faiths. Services are available
and can be requested by asking your nurse or other provider. Our Chaplains
also assist patients in contacting community spiritual representatives.
At Saint Mary’s, our staff is committed to honoring and supporting
the faith, beliefs and values of our patients, their families and caregivers.
It is our desire to assist our patients in connecting with spiritual care
services that can be a source of strength and energy in the healing process.
Saint Mary's Chapel
In almost every faith tradition, it is important to have sacred spaces
for prayer, celebration and to practice rituals that hold meaning for
us. For patients, family or staff, we open this sacred space to all and
hope that it might offer a safe haven in times of distress, uncertainty
and even in celebration of new beginnings. Mass is celebrated in the Chapel
at various times throughout the week. We also broadcast Mass from the
Chapel to patient rooms daily. Catholic sacraments are also available
through Spiritual Care Services.
Spiritual Care Volunteers
Our professional spiritual care team is supported by a talented and caring
community of volunteers. These volunteers give their time and compassion
to support patients, family and staff in times of grief, loss and spiritual
distress. Our volunteers receive specialized training and support from
our Chaplain team, and they are an integral part of our spiritual care
ministry. If you are interested in becoming a Spiritual Care volunteer,
please visit our
Volunteer Services page for more information.
