Barbara Smith Campbell
Barbara Smith Campbell is president of Consensus, LLC, a company which she founded in 2005 and which provides strategic tax and regulatory planning for businesses located or contemplating relocating to Nevada. Prior to starting Consensus, LLC, Ms. Campbell served as a member of the State of Nevada Tax Commission for 5 consecutive terms and as its chairman from 1996 to 2005. In 1993, she joined Mandalay Resort Group and served as director of finance for Mandalay Development. Following a merger between MGM Mirage and Mandalay Resort Group, Ms. Campbell served as vice president of finance for MGM Grand Resorts Development until late 2005.
In addition to being a board member of Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Ms. Campbell currently serves as a member of the board of directors of American Pacific Corporation (Public, NASDAQ:APFC) and serves as a trustee of the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation. She is a gubernatorial appointment to the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange that will implement the Affordable Care Act in Nevada and is its chairman. Past board positions includes a white house appointment to the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco where she served as chairman of the audit committee and was an advisory board member of AMERCO (Public, NASDAQ:UHAL), parent company of U-Haul International and is immediate past chairman of the board of Nevada Taxpayers Association. She has served on the boards of University of Nevada Reno Foundation, National Judicial College - Council for the Future, Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, Regional Water Planning Advisory Board, KNPB Channel 5 - Public Broadcasting Television Network, Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Northern Nevada and Nevada Women’s Fund.
Ms. Campbell attended the University of Santa Clara and the University of Nevada and graduated with a business administration degree in economics.
