SAINT MARY'S CEO HELEN LIDHOLM NAMED "FEMALE
HOSPITAL AND HEALTH SYSTEM LEADER TO KNOW"
RENO, Nev. – Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 – Helen Lidholm, chief executive officer of Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center and Medical Group was named in Becker's Hospital Review
"130 Women Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know" which recognizes female health care leaders across the country.
Women featured on this list have demonstrated a proven ability to lead their respective organizations within the hospital and health care industry. They have demonstrated considerable skill and promise in midst of healthcare's challenging environment. The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team chose these hospital and health system leaders based on a number of factors, including awards they have won, management and leadership skills, hospital or health system performance, financial turnarounds, system operations oversight and quality improvement initiatives.
"To be among this list is great honor, and we are proud to have Saint Mary's and Helen recognized on a national level," said Prem Reddy, M.D., FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services, the corporate parent of Saint Mary's. "Helen's leadership and management skills have proven invaluable to the turnaround of the hospital, and this recognition is well deserved."
Lidholm was the only health care executive on Becker's Hospital Review list to represent the state of Nevada and is one of three within the Prime Healthcare network to receive the honor.
Lidholm has more than 25 years of health care leadership and professional experience. In the last year, she successfully led the organization's quality improvement initiatives and Saint Mary's was named the safest hospital in the region by the Leap Frog Group who gave the organization an "A" ranking.
Additionally, Saint Mary's was recently certified in Spine Surgery and Cardiac Care by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield which provides certification to programs that meet and exceed quality standards. Since the organization's 2012 transition to Prime Healthcare Services, a top 15 health system in the nation, Lidholm has been instrumental in helping Saint Mary's achieve financial stability by developing new physician partnerships and analyzing hospital processes. Because of this over $10 million has been reinvested in the hospital and Medical Group.
