Urgent Care check-in technology improves the patient experience
Skip the lines, avoid long wait times, and book your reservation from anywhere
Reno, Nev. – Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 – Health care organizations across the country are exploring new ways to
connect with their patients, and offer greater convenience and rewarding
patient experiences. Saint Mary’s Medical Group has launched Urgent
Care check-in as a new platform for its patients. The new technology will
streamline patient reservations at one of its three urgent care clinics
in Reno and Sparks. Additional benefits include seeing real-time urgent
care hours and choosing a location based on available reservation times.

“Our patients want quick and easy tools to better manage their health
care needs and we are excited to launch a new online check-in process,”
said Bayo Curry-Winchell, M.D. urgent care medical director for Saint
Mary’s Medical Group. “Our goal is simple – to provide
an excellent urgent care experience by utilizing the convenience of technology.”
So, how does it work? The check-in platform allows a patient to make a
reservation from the convenience of their home, office, or any location
they can access the internet. Upon visiting the check-in website, a patient
chooses their preferred location, completes a brief form, and books their
reservation time.
Subsequently, the program is designed to contact the patient through text
messaging 10 minutes prior to their reservation so they can arrive on
time, with no wait. If a patient is already at an urgent care, they can
make their reservation in person and either wait or come back minutes
before their reserved time. Lastly, if a patient misses their reservation
time, they will remain in the queue for up to three hours. After this
time, they will receive a notification that their reservation was cancelled.
“Patients come to an urgent care to get better, and that’s
our focus. Instead of waiting in a lobby for an unknown amount of time,
whether for yourself or with a child, you can make a reservation and arrive
minutes before your scheduled timed.”
If you are experiencing emergent symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty
breathing, severe pain, bleeding, burns, seizure, stroke, broken bones,
deep cuts and related we advise you to visit the nearest emergency room.
