Saint Mary's Limb Preservation and Wound Clinic

Saint Mary’s Wound clinic is focused on preserving limbs and supporting patients with their healing process. We use advanced technologies and treatment protocols to ensure our patients have the best experience and outcomes.

Our program combines expertise from specialists such as infectious disease, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, podiatry, hyperbaric technologists, wound care certified physicians, nurses, and medical assistants.

When to Seek Treatment

If you have a wound that has not significantly begun to health within four weeks, or completely within two months, contact your primary care provider for a Wound Clinic referral. Wounds are often caused by diabetes, pressure ulcers, venous stasis, peripheral vascular disease (PAD), and ostomy.

What Course of Treatment Will I Go Through?

During your first visit, our providers will evaluate your wound and review your medical history. You may also need non-invasive tests that give us information about blood and oxygen flow in the area of your wound. Course of treatment may include:

  • Antibiotic therapy
  • Diabetes education
  • Education on wound prevention
  • Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
  • Nutritional services
  • Protective footwear
  • Surgical intervention
  • Vascular testing

How the Clinic Works with Your Doctor

During your treatment at the Clinic, your primary care provider remains an integral part of your overall treatment plan. We discuss your treatment plan and keep him or her updated on your progress. Remember, it is important that you see your physician for routine medical care. Lastly, you can request records through our Clinic, that can be shared with your primary care provider.
