June 22 - Step Out of Your Comfort Zone: Doing the same things the same will easily cause you to fall into a rut and prevent you from progressing toward your goal.

Have you secretly wanted to take a cycle class, complete a triathlon, compete in cross fit or learn proper swim technique? Stepping out of your comfort zone with exercise is a great way to reach your goals. No matter what the activity is training for something new can make you stronger physically and mentally. The human body is very adaptable and you may begin to stop seeing improvements if you continue the same exercise routine for months at a time. The body likes to be challenged and trying a new exercise or a new training program is a great way to mix things up. You will also develop confidence and self-esteem by completing a routine that is new, challenging and out of your comfort zone.

So go ahead, plan today what new thing you will try. Tell one of our amazing Health Coaches, Personal Trainers or Group Exercise Instructors your secret goal. They will help point you in the right direction to reach that goal and bust out of your comfort zone.

I myself stepped out of my comfort zone five years ago when I completed my sprint distance triathlon. Since that time I have had more confidence to continue trying new things, not only with exercise but in all aspects of my life.
