Becoming A Volunteer In The Hospital
If you are interested in taking an active role in helping people, have a passion for health care, and you are over the age of 18, we encourage you to apply to become a Saint Mary’s volunteer.
After reading the document Becoming A Volunteer, if you feel that you meet the qualifications, please fill out a Volunteer Application and email it back to our Volunteer department at: mperezrios@primehealthcare.com.
Please Note: Submission of a volunteer application does not guarantee your approval as a Saint Mary’s Volunteer. Volunteer opportunities may vary based on the needs of our organization. Approved volunteers will be required to attend a full day general/volunteer orientation.
Hospice Volunteer Program
For individuals who want to help families of patients who are facing the end of their lives, Saint Mary’s Hospice of Northern Nevada welcomes volunteers. Hospice volunteers are required to complete a specialized training program and, after training, typically give four hours of their time each week. Volunteer opportunities within the Hospice Volunteer Program include:
- Providing companionship for Hospice patients and families
- Providing bereavement support
- Doing simple tasks for Hospice patients and families
- Assisting in the Hospice office
